Two Annertech websites have been named as finalists in the 2025 Digital Business Ireland National Digital Awards – Oxfam Ireland and Local Government Ireland.

The new year kicked off with the announcement of the National Digital Awards finalist, and we were thrilled to discover that Oxfam Ireland ( in the Digital Impact Of The Year category) and the Local Government Ireland website (New Website of the Year category) have made the shortlist.

Oxfam Ireland

The modern, user-friendly Oxfam Ireland website not only impactfully communicates Oxfam’s work and needs, it also forms an important part of Oxfam Ireland’s strategic plan – to support the delivery of a digital strategy for Oxfam Ireland’s trading network.

Since the launch of the new website, hundreds of thousands of euros have been donated to Oxfam Ireland using the website’s donation section.

Oxfamireland.org makes it easy for users to find a shop, with links to Oxfam’s 46 shops across Ireland. Since the launch of the website, store interaction has increased to an 88.46% engagement rate. Website visitor numbers show that the “Shops” and “Shop with us” pages are the most popular.

The website has proven to be a powerful tool for raising awareness and mobilising action. Its online campaigns have a 79.18% engagement rate, and there have been hundreds of newsletter signups via the website.

“We’re delighted that the website has had such a positive effect on Oxfam’s operations, and we are thrilled that Digital Business Ireland has recognised its impact via the awards,” said Managing Director Stella Power.

Local Government Ireland

The new Local Government Ireland digital home is displayed on tablet, phone and computer screens.

The new digital home of Local Government Ireland is not just a sleek, elegant website that directs users to the information they need. It has laid the foundation for an ambitious plan – that in the future, all shared services will be built as a subdomain of LocalGov.ie.

LocalGov.ie is the digital hub of local government in Ireland, and is managed by the Local Government Management Agency.

Local government plays an important role in democracy and in the delivery of essential services in Ireland, and a website was needed to provide the public with information about these services.

“It was an honour to lay the digital foundation for Ireland’s local government services. LocalGov.ie provides a benchmark for the entire sector and we look forward to seeing how the project grows in future,” said Stella.

The awards

This is the fifth installment of the Digital Awards, which recognise the best digital, e-commerce and innovation businesses in Ireland.

“We were blown away by the hundreds of entries we received, the quality of the applicants and the individual stories of many businesses as they embraced digital in their operations over the course of this year,” said Chairperson of Digital Business Ireland, Caroline Dunlea.

“The Irish business community is relentless in its pursuit to reinvent and deliver solutions for their customers, while moving our economy forward. They have a remarkable ability to adapt, pivot and innovate in a changing world. This proved to be very inspiring to all the judging panel.”

The finalists now make another submission to the judges and once these have been considered, the winners will be announced on 27 March at TwentyTwo, in Dublin 2.

“We are so excited that these two websites have been shortlisted for National Digital Awards. They play such important roles in both the non-government and government sectors, and notification of the awards shortlisting was such a lovely way to kick off 2025!” said Stella.
