HIQA
The Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) is the independent Authority established in May 2007 to drive continuous improvement in Ireland’s health and social care services.
It is an independent authority responsible for driving quality, safety and accountability in residential services for children, older people and people with disabilities in Ireland.
The previous www.hiqa.ie website was a static website, but with the growth of the organisation and the pace of publications, this meant the workload for the webmaster had become overwhelming.
The new site was launched in April 2011 and features a well designed workflow for publication of content that mirrors the internal publication processes. This allows HIQA to publish reports and press releases in a timely fashion.
In addition, there is an extensive database of care centres, with a custom map to display all the details. The system is also integrated with internal databases to display updated content automatically on the website.
